Program Manager, LiveSecure - JFNA

The Jewish Federations of North America New York NY

Position Title: Program Manager, LiveSecure

Reports To: Associate Vice President, LiveSecure

The Jewish Federations of North America (“JFNA”) consist of 146 Jewish Federations and hundreds of Network communities which collectively raise and distribute more than $3 billion annually to support flourishing Jewish life and the needs of the Jewish people in their home communities and around the world. The Jewish Federation system, among the top 10 charities on the continent, leads the largest network of volunteer and professional leaders who build and sustain Jewish communities that are healthy, safe, caring, welcoming and inclusive, educated and engaged, involved in the broader community, and deeply connected to Israel and the global Jewish people.

LiveSecure Background: North American Jewish communities have experienced more than a 300% increase in overt antisemitism, including violent attacks. From antisemitism in the press and on social media to antizionist protests and rallies in major cities, this problem has reached crisis proportions. The safety and security of the Jewish community is our most urgent priority. Today, 124 of the 146 Jewish Federations have created comprehensive security initiatives, and all require care and investment to meet and maintain the standards necessary to address the current threat environment. The $62M LiveSecure fund supports both SCN and as a matching grant, the Jewish Federations across North America that are creating Community Security Initiatives for their entire community and in partnership with geographically adjacent Federations.

LiveSecure is the Jewish Federations’ ambitious plan, in partnership with the Secure Community Network (SCN), to build a complete and comprehensive security shield across North America. LiveSecure has two goals: 1) To ensure that every Jewish community has a quality, best-practice local community security initiative in place within three years, connected to the national system of communications, training and best practices, and 2) to leverage JFNA's advocacy for increased public national and state funds and help our communities access more of these resources.

LiveSecure funds are provided to communities through two primary types of grants: Launch and Enhancement Grants. Both types of grants are based on the budget for security at the Federation and will be awarded each year over three years. Federations are required to submit detailed plans for design, implementation, and fundraising.
