The Jewish Federation of Peoria represents a small community known for its warmth and inclusion. We are searching for a new Executive Director upon the retirement of our current one after 20+ years. Website of Jewish Federation of Peoria: jewishpeoria.org.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Executive Director will supervise two to three people, including an office assistant/bookkeeper. The Executive Director will report to the Board of Trustees.
The responsibilities include: manage the Federation office and annual budget, support local Jewish educational and social needs, foster community outreach and partnerships with local Jewish institutions, expand membership and leadership within the Jewish community, manage all fundraising efforts (including an annual campaign), and be the outward facing liaison to the community while working to fulfill our Mission Statement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Self-starter with ability to manage and motivate volunteers
- History of engaging with Jewish community groups; prior involvement with a Jewish Federation and familiarity with JFNA, JAFI and JDC are beneficial
- Basic knowledge and a passion for Jewish culture and Israeli history and current events
- Experience with strategic planning and engaging donors
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Detail-oriented
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Previous Jewish and/or non-profit work experience is ideal
- Social and print media experience preferred
HOURS/SALARY
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Part-time four days/week on average, with a flexible work schedule
- Occasional evenings and Sundays for events and meetings
