Who we are:
The Jewish Federation of Fort Wayne is (and has been for more than 100 years) a vital entity in our small but dynamic Jewish community in a city with a population of 265,000. Our mission is to support the well-being and continuity of the Jewish people in greater Fort Wayne, in Israel, and throughout the world. 
 

With the retirement of our current Executive Director, we are seeking to fill that position.

Position Description
The Executive Director reports to and collaborates with the Board of Trustees and is assisted by an executive assistant, a bookkeeper, and community volunteers. 


Responsibilities include:

  •  Manage the Federation office and annual budget
  •  Partner with community volunteers and assistants for programming
  •  Promote leadership within the Jewish Community and expand membership
  •  Community outreach and partnership with Jewish institutions
  •  Liaison to community and institutions who support our mission and values
  •  Manage fundraising efforts 


Qualifications

  • Self-initiating, mission focused, and engaging
  • Commitment to Judaism in broad form
    • knowledge and passion for Jewish life, tradition, and culture.
    • supporting Jewish educational and social needs
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Build/maintain community relations 


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, Jewish studies
  • Previous experience in nonprofit or human services a plus 


Hours/Salary

  • Part-time— 24 hours/week- flexible work schedule reflecting community commitments
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Occasional evenings and Sundays, for events and meetings
