BACKGROUND 
The Jewish Federations of North America
(JFNA) represents 146 Jewish Federations and over 300 Network communities, which raise and distribute more than $3 billion annually for social welfare, social services and educational needs. The Federation movement, collectively among the top 10 charities on the continent, protects and enhances the well-being of Jews worldwide through the values of tikkun olam (repairing the world), tzedakah (charity and social justice) and Torah (Jewish learning).  

ABOUT THE POSITION 
The JFNA Center for Advancing Holocaust Survivor Care (CAHSC) advances person-centered, trauma-informed (PCTI) care for Holocaust survivors by: a) awarding sub-grants to local agencies for innovations in PCTI care and for the coordination of services to help Holocaust survivors prevent and resolve emergencies; and b) providing technical assistance and capacity building support to sub-grantees and the larger Aging Services Network on PCTI care. As part of these efforts, the CAHSC engages in research and evaluation functions, including assisting sub-grantees in the development of their program evaluation efforts, compiling and analyzing evaluation data to determine promising practices, monitoring and compiling research and trends on aging and trauma, and disseminating PCTI strategies and lessons learned through conference presentations and publications.

The Project Manager, Research and Evaluation, implements all of these activities within the research and evaluation functions of the CAHSC.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing and overseeing a process to award and monitor sub-grants to create program guides, which will be disseminated through our website

  • Providing assistance to sub-grantees on program evaluation efforts

  • Reviewing, organizing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative evaluation data to determine promising practices and lessons learned Conducting literature reviews and keeping up to date on research and trends related to Holocaust survivors, aging, and trauma

  • Creating PowerPoints, journal articles, infographics, and/or other dissemination materials to share with other organizations that serve older adults

  • Conducting outreach to organizations serving older populations with a history of trauma and sharing promising practices with them

  • Presenting materials at conferences or on webinars

  • Other related assignments as directed.


RECOMMENDED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS: 

  • Mid-level experience in the nonprofit, government, health and human services, or long-term services and supports sectors

  • Background in aging services and/or trauma preferred

  • Experience with research, program evaluation, and data analysis

  • Excellent research and analytical skills

  • Experience with marketing, communications, or outreach

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to sort through and systemize large volumes of materials

  • Organized, professional self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work quickly 

  • Bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree in social work, health care, gerontology, sociology, psychology, nonprofit management, public administration, communications, business or law preferred

  • Some U.S. travel required

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree + Advanced Degree Preferred.
